Anti-Ragging

In view of the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16-05-2007 and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009,this is to prohibit,prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing,treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student,or indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance,hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension there of in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in ordinary course do and which has the affect of causing or generating a sense of shame,or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect thephysique or psyche of such fresher or any other student,with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student,in all higher education institutions in the country, and thereby,to provide for the healthy development,physically and psychologically, of all students,the all India Council for Technical Education,(AICTE)banned ragging in all forms.

What constitutes Ragging:-Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts:

  1. Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken on retain or by an act which has the effct of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student;
  2. Indulging in row by or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to causes annoyance, hardship physical or psychological harm or to rise fear or apprehancing there of in any fresher or any other student;
  3. Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the order course do and which has the effct of causing or generating a sence of same, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely effct the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student;
  4. Any act by a senior student that presvents, disrupts or disturbs the regular accademic activities of any other students or a freshers;
  5. Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic task assigned to an indivisual or a group of stundets;
  6. Any act of financial extorting or forcefully expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students;
  7. Any act of physical abuse including all varieties of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person;
  8. Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, public insults which would also include deriving prevented pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student;
  9. Any act that affects the mental health and self confidance of a fresher or any other student with or without and intend to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority of superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student

The Anti Ragging Committee of Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration which was formed by notice no. 171A dt.02.07.2012 for t he Academic Session 2012-13 and continued for 2013-14 and 2014-15 is hereby reformed with the following members for the academic session 2015-16 onwards.This reformation is needed as some members of the previous committe are either or transferred or rertired from the service.

Anti-Ragging Squad

As per the mandatory requirement AICTE,the Anti Ragging Squad of Goenka College of Commerce & Business Administration is formed for academic session 2015-2016 with the following member of teaching & non teaching staff and student

The following students are included in the anti-ragging squad (in place of pass out students) of Goenka College of Commerce & Business Administration which was formed in the year 2012-13 vide notice no.171B dated 02.07.2012 and modified by notice no. 193A dated 01.08.2013 as per the mandatory requerment of AICTE.

  1. Miss Swastika Ghosh, student of B.Com. 1st year in place of Mr. Ronit Mazumder.
  2. Mr. Krishanu Halder, student of B.Com. 2nd year in place of Mr. Debarun Paul.
  3. Mr. Prithish Ballav Mondal, student of B.Com. 1st year in place of Mr. Sauradip Das.
  4. Mr. Sudipta Mondal, student of B.Com. 1st year in place of Mr. Sauvik Mondal.
